So sorry for the Pause -

My hard drive crashed on my last day of meetings in Washington, DC, January 26.  Some great guys have been trying to retieve my data ever since.  I haven't lost the story, "Dying in Indian Country," because I had it backed up.  But I have had to spend quite a bit of time setting up a new computer and rebuilding various other things.   Unfortunately, some things on the other computer weren't backed up and aren't easily remade/rewritten.  Emails are gone -  Some things are just gone forever.

Yes, I learned my lesson and am setting up a decent back up system.  I just wish this lesson hadn't been so costly.  Everyone always says that data is never actually erased from a hard drive - it's just written over.  So... I thought for certain these savvy guys could get my data back...  One has told me he has never seen a crash as bad as this one.

Well, we'll move on. The loss is saddening, and maybe it slowed us down, but it won't stop us one bit.  The meetings in DC for CAICW were very, very good. The best we've ever had.  Maybe change is coming.

I hope to get more of the story up by the end of the week.

(To my friend: How is everything - Was it a boy or a girl??)
